Diani Beach is located on the exotic coastline around 40 minutes away from Mombasa and your Amboseli safari. Here, you'll find pearly white beaches, swaying palm trees and a crystal clear sea. A bumpy road will take you to our small-scale beach resort located right on the beach.

At your resort, you can stretch out on a pearly white private beach, order a cocktail and settle into beach heaven. We consider Diani beach to be the perfect place to end your Kenya adventure. If you would prefer a ready made holiday, take a look at our Kenya safari and beach option.

Diani Beach is also great for watersports. You can rent a surfboard, take a kite surfing lesson or try a jet ski ride. We also recommend a sailing trip to the coral island of Wassini. Alternatively, take a look at our Zanzibar beaches.

Day 1: Mombasa - Diani Beach

On arrival in Mombasa airport you'll drive towards the small ferry that will drop you off at the tropical shore south of Mombasa. If you take the coast road, you'll reach Diani Beach in about 1.5 hour. If you choose take our Amboseli safari directly before this trip, then your transport to Diani beach will already be included in the price.

Diani is located on a dreamy coastal strip with white sandy beaches, swaying palm trees and a turquoise sea. In the distance, you'll see several traditional dhow boats with their snow white sails in stark contrast to the deep blue sky. Our unique beach resort here is directly on the white beach. The staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you'd like to experience true decadence, we can book a suite with a private chef (ask for price details). The spacious rooms are scattered across a tropical garden filled with monkeys and exotic birds. All of the rooms have air conditioning and a balcony or terrace. The afternoon is free for you to realx on the white sands of the resort's private beach.

Days 2 and 3: Diani Beach

You can spend today and tomorrow entirely as you wish. You can spend some time in the sun on the private beach, stroll through the surf or take a day trip on a local dhow boat (book through the resort). You can also go deep sea fishing, diving, jetskiing, kite surfing or wind surfing.

We definitely recommend a day trip to Wassini Island (approx. £85). You'll be picked up in the morning and then you'll drive along the coastal road to the harbour where a beautiful, large wooden sail boat will be waiting. Once you're at sea, you may see playful dolphins following the boat. After a drink and about an hour of sailing, the anchor will be thrown out at a sandbank in the middle of the sea.

The sandbank is surrounded by a coral reef that's excellent for snorkelling. As the water slowly begins to rise, you can sunbathe on the sandbank until it disappears under water and the boat sets sail. On the way back to the harbour you'll also visit Wassini Island, where you'll get a glimpse of the local fishermen's lives.

At the end of the day, you'll return to your beach resort where you can have a seat at the cocktail bar and let the bartender surprise you with an exciting concoction. Beneath the swaying palms, you'll be able to look out over the white sandy beach and the waves rolling onto the sands.

Day 4 - Diani Beach - Mombasa - End of trip

Travel time approx. 40 minutes

After breakfast you'll say goodbye to Diani beach and the Indian Ocean. Of course, if you would like to spend more time here, we can arrange this for you.

From Diani, you'll drive along the palm-lined coastal road towards Mombasa. Next, you'll catch a ferry to the other side and drive towards the airport to catch a plane back to Nairobi or to take a flight to Tanzania to begin one of our Tanzania adventure tours.

Stay at a luxurious resort, an excellent destination for honeymooners. It is made up of large reed cabins scattered throughout a tropical garden and directly next to a private beach. The spacious rooms feature all possible amenities and the honeymoon suite even has its own waterfall. Diving enthusiasts can go for an introductory dive in the 5m deep swimming pool in preparation for the real thing.

Diani Beach - Yoga Retreat - £693 per person

For those who would like to retreat from everyday life and focus on 'body and mind', we have a small-scale yoga retreat centre directly on the beach for you. This is the best possible place to rest and relax while taking yoga and meditation lessons or treating yourself to ayurveda massage, aroma therapy, reflexology, acupuncture and detox. Two yoga sessions and two meditation sessions are included during your stay. One consult with a yoga therapist is also included in the price.
