Kenya Travel Reviews - Local Staff and Service Our driver, Agrey was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals and seemed to have eyes in the back of his head,he saw things we couldn't even spot with binoculars! We all felt like we had made a real friend and missed him whn we left. Clare WDan was not only a very good driver, but also the font of knowledge about wildlife and Kenyan culture and politics. He had very good English to explain any points. Dennis D It involved a lot of driving and change of camps, but we knew that when we set out, so not a problem. The itinerary was very much as described, so what we had hoped. Having a personal driver/guide also enabled us to linger or speed up as we wished. Fitting in the camel ride was a bit of a rush (but fun!) Charlotte H Musa was brilliant. Knowledgeable, and when he realised that we were interested in anything that moved, stopped for everything. Would request him in future. Jane A Our driver was excellent. We can't sing his praises enough. He really made our trip. Lovely guy and very knowledgeable. James T |

The safari was excellent, we saw so much in the time we had available this was due largely to the knowledge of the guide and some luck. The driver/guide was excellent and had a very good knowledge of where to find the animals. He was very accommodating. David K Goodluck, our driver, was excellent. Not only was he a very good and safe driver he was also extremely knowledgeable. He was able to explain an awful lot to us about the wildlife and the environment as well as the country we were visiting. His ability to spot wildlife from a great distance was superb. Very often, even when he told us what we were supposed to be looking at, we couldn't see what it was he was making a beeline for until we were almost on top of it. He was also very helpful and considerate when we both succombed to a stomach upset and were unable to travel for one day. Not only did he go and purchase medication for us but also changed our itinerary so we still got see everything we had wanted to see. Overall he was a major factor in our enjoyment of the trip. I cannot praise him highly enough. James M. The service of your local staff was excellent. I became sick on the third day of the safari and the driver and partner became worried, they ensured i was taken to the dr and received medical help which got me better, they were very thoughtful and supportive of me and my husband. Kenya Travel Reviews - Module Feedback
Our safari started out at Lake Manyara. This was our first encounter with the lovely animals we would see quite a lot of during the rest of the week. The lodge in Karatu is a great place to dine and spend the night and the level of service was so incredible that it almost left us blushing. During our safari our guide shared interesting facts about the Masai way of life and about the area they've lived in for ages. He could also tell us all about the animals we spotted (sometimes it took us much longer to spot them...). As an added bit of service, he even brought along a colourfully illustrated bird guide book that he would hand over to us - open to the correct page - every time we saw another "oh, how beautiful" bird. |
| During our safari we also went camping. In the past we've spent many summers camping, but we usually never ate anything more complicated than macaroni or a rice dish with a side salad. However here we were at a campsite without any facilities enjoying dinner and drinks as if we were in a restaurant! The showers were cold, but we would grab a bucket or two of warm water from the kitchen to make washing up more pleasant. The trip to the Serengeti was another indescribably beautiful and interesting journey. Along the way we encountered many different animals such as a leopard lodged high up in a tree with his prey stashed in another tree nearby. We also saw herds of elephants, dozens of hippos and countless lionesses as well as sausage trees, weaver-bird nests, a hyena, a black mamba, lions and cheetahs standing on rock formations. We also enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Olduvai Gorge, a simply stunning location. Anja |

The next day it was time for the coffee tour - it was simply fantastic! It's such a wonderful concept and a fun module to boot! It really made me realise how spoiled we Europeans are. After getting to know the area we stopped off for a banana soup and banana beer lunch. |

During our visit to Zanzibar we stayed at a very well maintained, beautiful location. It was splendid being able to walk straight out of our room and onto the white sandy beach whilst feeling the warm, soft sand between our toes. The view of the azure blue sea and palm trees was the icing on the cake. I would love to go back anytime. The small-scale accommodation made our stay feel very personal and it was a great place to relax. The room was very well maintained and the food was very tasty. We also enjoyed exploring the island by rental car. I have very pleasant memories of children standing by the roadside smiling and waving as we drove by. |

We booked a safari and Mount Kilimanjaro climb. The trip was very special to us and there were more than a few highlights. We chose to do the Marangu Route so that we would be able to enjoy some level of comfort during stay. During the climb, our guide Diddas continuously reassured us that we should climb at our own pace and that we shouldn't push ourselves too hard. Both the Serengeti team and the Kilimanjaro team made our trip an unforgettable one. They were friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and the Kilimanjaro team was dressed far more appropriately than other teams which proved to us that the local agent takes good care of his mountain guides and porters. Riding a camel was quite an unusual experience and just a little uncomfortable perhaps. The camels were actually rather funny animals. The camp we stayed at was very basic and resembled a nomadic camp. We slept in huts made of straw that were rather chilly at night. It was incredible to be able to experience first-hand how the nomads in this region live. When we left the camp we passed across the equator. In the following days we visited one beautiful spot after another, such as Lake Nakuru, and saw many flamingos, rhinos, buffalos, zebras and antelopes. Adam B. The Camel Camp in Nanyuki was an experience, the food and hospitality were excellent - but no flush toilets or running water was a bit daunting for teenage daughters (especially with no lights and no door on the toilet, and no sink anywhere!) Our highlight was definitely our time at Masa Mara. Our driver/guide was excellent. The wildlife was amazing, and were were luckly enough to see a variety of animals both relaxing and hunting. James T The Masai safari was the highlight - Quite amazing, guide and hosts at camp were excellent, we saw so much! Charlotte H |
| Amboseli is a rather small wildlife park with large numbers of wild animals. While standing in the park you'll have an incredible view of the Kilimanjaro and its snow-covered peak. The mountain is truly phenomenal as it suddenly appears out of nowhere. There are dozens of kilometres of flat land sprawled out in front of the mountain, so the difference in altitude is enormous. We enjoyed spending the next two nights in Tsavo West, so that we didn't have to pack our bags every day. This wildlife park is larger than Amboseli and has more wooded area. Since there were seven of us, we travelled by land cruiser. This worked out very well and our driver Maxwell was a great guy. He was always on time and always took into account the fact that we were travelling with 5 kids. He drove very carefully and didn't take any risks when passing other cars. The kids loved him. Our accommodation at Diani Beach was very luxurious. The rooms were well maintained and had air conditioning. The surrounding area was fairytale-like: white sandy beaches lined with palm trees and hardly a cloud in the sky. During our stay on the coast we were also able to meet the local agent. We also let him know that we found everything to be very well organised. I don't have any recommendations for improvement. The only thing I can say is that I will definitely recommend that others book with you as well. Monica R. |
