Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

Travel time approx. 6 hours

You'll be picked up at your hotel in Nairobi early this morning to begin your Masai Mara tour. If you arrive in Kenya the morning or early afternoon you can begin the trip straight from the airport. On the journey, you'll see everyday Kenyan life passing you by.

By noon you'll arrive in your tented camp in the bush. You'll have your own spacious safari tent with comfortable beds and a built-in bathroom. After lunch, you'll head out for the first game drive of your Masai Mara tours, spotting wild animals in the Masai Mara and experience the beauty of a genuine African sunset. Once you return to your tented camp, there will be time to relax and unwind with a cold drink with bush sounds in the background.

You'll spend the night at our tented camp in the Masai Mara.

Day 2: Masai Mara game drives

Even before the sun creeps above the horizon, you'll hop into your safari vehicle and drive towards the Masai Mara, where the roof will be rolled back for your safari. Be sure to bring along a warm sweater and a sun hat since it can be quite chilly in the early morning. As you drive through the Masai Mara, the sun will slowly start to rise and the vast savannah will turn orange, a real highlight of your Masai Mara tours.

Perhaps you'll see lions bent over the carcass of a zebra, panting after their feast. Looking up above you'll might see a swarm of vultures circling in the sky and a safe distance there may be a few impatient hyenas waiting for the lions to leave what remains of their prey behind. You may feel as if you've walked into a National Geographic documentary.
After a few hours of driving straight through rough terrain and endless plains, you may feel your stomach start to growl. Gradually you'll start to return to the gate, all the while spotting wild animals. Once you return to the camp you'll find a delicious breakfast waiting for you. After breakfast you'll be able to take a nap or go for a walk with one of the Masai. If you can afford it, you'll definitely want to experience an early morning hot air balloon ride. The view of the Masai Mara from high in the sky is spectacular. The price begins at approximately £350 per person and you'll have to make reservations ahead of time. Naturally we make all of the necessary arrangements for you.

During the afternoon temperatures can climb significantly and most animals will search for cover in the shadows. Once the temperatures drop somewhat you'll head out for the afternoon game drive in search of wild animals. At dusk on the Masai Mara tours you'll return to camp for dinner and a crackling campfire.

You'll spend another night of your Masai Mara tours at our tented camp in the Masai Mara.

After your Masai Mara tour, you can continue discovering the real Kenya with our Kenya overland tour or with an Amboseli safari, which will take you to the coast ready for a few days relaxing on Diani beach.
