Our travelling in Tanzania starter packs include a transfer from Kilimanjaro airport and accommodation for your first night (or few nights), ensuring that your Tanzania trip gets off to a relaxed start. We have several variations, so that you can choose the one that works best with your plans. Our Tanzania specialist will always offer you the most practical option. Here are the choices and extensions that are always possible:

Option 1. Airport transfer and accommodation for one night at Kilimanjaro Safari Lodge before your safari.

Option 2. Airport transfer to Moshi and accommodation for one night before our cultural or active Tanzania adventure tours (and then safari).

Option 3. Airport transfer to Arusha a few days relaxing before your safari.

The easiest, most affordable option whilst travelling in Tanzania is our Kilimanjaro airport lodge. It's far closer to the airport than Arusha or Moshi (both approximately 1 hour drive), so it won't take long to reach your lodge after a long flight. This beautiful lodge is only five minutes away from a small airport in the middle of the African plains. You'll have an endless view of the savannah from the swimming pool and if the weather is clear you can even see Kilimanjaro. The lodge is made up of separate bungalows with spacious air-conditioned rooms. In the evening, you can dine in the restaurant. Breakfast is included along with your airport transfer. This option will save you money, even though you'll be staying in a luxurious lodge with a genuine safari atmosphere.

Note: We also use this lodge for those who have just completed a safari and wish to fly straight to Zanzibar the following day.

Moshi is a great way to begin your travelling in Tanzania adventure.

If you plan on doing one of our active or cultural tours before your safari, you could choose cycling at the foot of Kilimanjaro in a Tanzania camping tour or pick your own coffee on a Moshi tours. We selected Moshi because of the exciting excursions that start here, and because the town sits in a beautiful location at the foot of Kilimanjaro with a lovely laid-back atmosphere.

Our small-scale hotel in Moshi is about an hour from Kilimanjaro airport in a green area within walking distance from the centre of town. When the weather is clear you can sit in the garden and look out at the white peaks of Kilimanjaro towering out above you. Your room with private bathroom is modest but neat and has all necessary amenities. Breakfast is included during your stay.

Many travellers to Tanzania wish to relax and unwind after their arrival, and we've found the ideal place for you to do just that. Our Arusha cottage is located in a very lovely area, just outside of the town. It lies between green rolling hills at the foot of the Kilimanjaro, which you can see from the terrace. The spacious cottages are beautifully decorated and set in a colourful tropical garden. You can enjoy cold drinks on your own veranda or take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, the perfect start to your travelling in Tanzania adventure. If you plan on staying for more than one night, we can arrange various day tours for you such as cycling trips through local villages or coffee tours.

We also get many requests for a place where travellers can recuperate after a safari adventure in the bush, before continuing on with our Moshi modules or before heading off to Zanzibar. Arusha cottage is a unique place and an ideal destination for before or after your safari.
